For nearly 200 years, we have been using light to record information as photos. Now that we have refined laser technology, we can use light to store digital information.

In music stores, the seemingly indestructible CD rapidly replaced vinyl, but don’t be fooled into believing that your CD collection will last forever. For software, music, photos, etc., scratches and separation of disc layers can be major problems.
