Locomotive Hall meeting1. Is catering supplied by the Museum or do we make our own arrangements?

The Museum has an in-house caterer and a list of approved caterers to choose from. There may be special circumstances under which alternate arrangements may be made. Please discuss this with the facility rental coordinator.

2. Do we need a liquor license?

The client shall at its own expense, respect and comply with federal, provincial, regional and municipal laws and regulations and obtain all necessary permits, authorizations, licences and approvals.

3. Can we visit the Museum before or after our rental?

If the event takes place during regular Museum opening hours, you and your guests may visit the Museum at no extra cost. When the Museum is closed or if you require special programming, an extra charge will apply.

4. Does the Museum offer special activities? Are they included in the rental fee?

You can add a variety of activities to your event—guided tours, craft workshops for kids, or a ride on the Virtual Voyages simulator. An extra charge will apply.

5. What if my event spans several weeks or days?

The Museum can accommodate repeat events. Please speak with the facility rental coordinator to check availability and develop your plan.

6. We are a registered charitable organization. Does that make us eligible for a reduced fee?

Yes, the Museum has special offers for registered charitable organizations. Please speak with the facility rental coordinator for details.

7. How much does the Museum charge for parking?

Parking is free for you and your guests.

8. Can I purchase Museum-related gifts for the event?

The Museum’s boutique, Scientique, offers a wide range of items to choose from. In addition, you will receive a 10% discount off the retail purchase price.
