Objectives of the program
During the Museum's school programme "An Invisible Attraction", your students will participate in hands-on activities which explore the properties of magnets.
After attending this lesson, your students will:
- be able to classify objects into magnetic and non-magnetic categories
- be aware that magnets are surrounded by an invisible form of energy
- be aware that magnets push and pull to change how something is moved

During Your Visit
Your class will rotate through five or six hands-on activity stations where students will discover various properties of magnets such as attraction, repulsion, and polarity. They will also learn how to make a magnet and an electromagnet. The activities may vary according to the size and level of the class.
