Properties of, and Changes in, Matter

Chemical Changes

Take two pieces of steel wool and soak one in some water. Put each piece in a separate glass jar and cover. Watch for a few days.
What caused the wet steel wool to change colour? Why didn't the other one change?

When wet iron comes in contact with oxygen in the air it rusts. You've probably seen the same process happen on your car or toys you've left outside.

Is this change reversible or irreversible?
