Science and Tech Museum Features Video Games during March Break
February 28 - March 7 and March 13 - 21, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ottawa — The Canada Science and Technology Museum offers visitors a chance to explore the world of video games throughout this year’s Ontario and Quebec March Breaks.

The following are some of the featured activities:

• Video Game Tournaments, daily tournaments will take place using two different formats: up to 16 participants will be able to face off simultaneously using popular video game technology, then try their hand at traditional arcade games. (Daily registration required to participate in tournaments)
• Presentation on how video games are made, a local video game developer will offer visitors an overview of what it takes to develop video games.
• A display of classic arcade games such as Space Invaders, Pac Man and Asteroids.
• Children’s activity area, will include a hands-on activity where children will design their own video game character in the form of a fridge magnet. Verify daily schedule for activity times.
• To celebrate National Engineering Week, February 28 to March 7, kids with fidgety fingers can also learn more about engineering by experimenting with K’NEX building materials at K’NEX construction workshops, which run from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily (an activity developed in cooperation with the National Engineering Week Ontario Steering Committee). These activities will also be offered March 13 to 21.

The museum will be open and activities will be featured daily (unless otherwise specified above) from February 28 to March 7 and March 13 to 21, 2004, including Monday, February 28 and Monday, March 15. The Canada Science and Technology Museum is located at 1867 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa. There is plenty of free parking. All activities are included with regular admission fee.
