Rescue Capsule used at the San Jose Chilean mine on display at the Canada Science and Technology Museum
The Canada Science and Technology Museum invites members of the media to a preview of the Rescue Capsule used at the rescue of thirty-three miners at the San Jose Mine in Copiapó, Chile.
This is a rare opportunity to see the Fenix capsula used in the rescue operations as a testing model and to transport materials down to the trapped Miners at the San Jose Chilean mine. Painted in the colours of Chilean flag - the Phoenix is equipped with oxygen supply and communication equipment..
There will also be an opening reception on the evening of March 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. Media are welcome to attend. The Capsule will be on public display at the Canada Science and Technology Museum from March 31 to May 1, 2011.
