From the Farm to the Freeway: Biocomposite Plastics
December 8, 2011 to June 2012
This exhibit on biocomposite plastic complements the very popular In Search of the Canadian Car exhibition at the Museum. Bioplastics are helping Canadian car drivers go further on a tank of gas, save money on annual fuel costs and reduce emissions from their tailpipes. In addition, adding plant-based materials to plastic helps to reduce the amount of petroleum needed to create the plastic. This exhibit is made possible through a collaboration between the Canada Science and Technology Museum and Auto 21, Canada's automotive research program. The exhibit is located in the 'Just around the Corner' section of the In Search of the Canadian Car.
