1. HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
Guess the number of bricks in the LEGO space shuttle at the Canada Science and Technology Museum.
2. CONTEST TERMS/ELIGIBILITY:
Contest begins December 1, 2009. All entries must be received by 4:45 p.m. EST, December 19, 2009. Contest is open only to residents of Canada. Children of employees of LEGO Canada, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each, and past winners of Guess the Number of Bricks contests are not eligible to win. All federal, state, local, municipal, and provincial laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
3. HERE’S HOW TO ENTER:
Present yourself at the LEGO exhibition at the Canada Science and Technology Museum and enter your name and contact information in the ballot box. Include your guess for how many LEGO bricks were used to build the large space shuttle. Museum admission applies.
4. PRELIMINARY AND GRAND PRIZE JUDGING:
All entries received via Rule #3 will be looked at after the end of the entry period. The 25 closest guesses will be put into a box and drawn for the winner by a Musuem staff whose decision is final. Winners will be notified by mail or by telephone. Odds of winning will depend upon the number of entries received. Final decisions will occur on December 21 at 10 a.m. EST.
5. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES (“ARV”):
Two (2) prizes will be awarded as follows: one (1) Grand Prize — the first drawn winner receives a cash prize of $1000 of LEGO from Playvalue at retail value, including taxes; one (1) prize of the LEGO City Set (value of CAN$150). Sponsor will not contact non-winning entrants, nor will Sponsor respond to inquiries regarding non-winning entries.
6. GENERAL RULES:
Parent/legal guardian of potential Grand Prize winner will be required to complete a Release of Liability, Prize Acceptance Form, and, if legally permissible, a Publicity Release. All documents must be completed and returned within 5 days of attempted delivery of same. Prizes will be mailed to winners approximately 10 weeks after verification of eligibility. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize or any portion thereof of equal or greater value. By accepting prize, parent/legal guardian of winner agrees to hold Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Parent/legal guardian of winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Parent/legal guardian of entrant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all liability and damages. By participating in this promotion, parent/legal guardian of entrant agrees to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any promotional materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern, and control. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering, or the announcement of the prizes, or in the administration of the promotion. In no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded.
To be confirmed a winner, selected entrants (or their parent or legal guardian) residing in Canada must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone.
All Canadian municipal, provincial, and federal laws and regulations apply. For Quebec residents: Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. Purchase or acceptance of a product does not improve chances of winning. Overall chances of winning depend upon the number of entries received.
