Grades 5 and 6 Materials:
1.Blow up the balloon several times to expand the rubber. 2.Place the balloon over the opening of the test tube. Make sure there is no air in the balloon. 3.Fill a sink or glass with hot water and submerge the test tube. What happens to the balloon? Why? 4.Now place the test tube in cold water. What happens to the balloon? Why? Can you list three other ways in which heat energy is used to do work?
