Café Scientifique is a forum where, for the price of a coffee or a glass of wine, adults can get together and talk about recent — and sometimes controversial — developments in science and technology. The Canada Science and Technology Museum and its partner the Canadian Museum of Nature serve as moderators to the discussion between invited experts and the general public. Lively discussions guaranteed!
Solar panels, geothermal energy, recycled building materials, etc. More and more 21st century homes are embracing the principle of sustainability as technologies improve with better ecological materials. But it can be challenging to have an environmentally sensitive home that is also affordable and satisfies our personal tastes. Can we leave it up to individuals to pursue their own eco-balance, or should we expect government to get more involved?
