Café Scientifique: To vaccinate or not? Deciphering the truth about mass immunization

November 24, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.
Fox and Feather Pub
283 Elgin Street
Ottawa, Ontario

Café Scientifique is a forum where, for the price of a coffee or a glass of wine, adults can get together and talk about recent -- and sometimes controversial --developments in science and technology. The Canada Science and Technology Museum and its partner the Canadian Museum of Nature serve as moderators to the discussion between invited experts and the general public. Lively discussions guaranteed!

There is growing concern across the world about the safety and even necessity the of vaccines. Why so many? Who are the true beneficiaries? Are we well equipped to make an educated decision to vaccinate ourselves and our family? Can we trust our public health officials and family doctors to give us both sides of the story? In the light of new legislation facing a potential flu epidemic, who will have sovereignty over our body?
